Comment: Thanks to whoever posted a picture FOR me at first...at least everyone had their eyes open in that one. (All right -- Jana?)  We're still 30 minutes from Manhattan and  I'm still with American Express but after 9/11, I switched gears and began studying Theology; just finished a Master's and am teaching now, as well. Two kids in college on both coasts and one Senior in High School... and my husband Wayne is still my hero!  I have a lot to be thankful for and will miss seeing all of you at the Reunion since I've made this commitment to teach.  See you at the 40th!  Hey Laurie -- your turn to come to my house!

Comment: My life has been pretty boring. Started work the day after graduation intending to only do that long enough to get money for school...and here I still am almost 30 years later. So much for that plan, although I have had at least 4 different 'careers' in the same company.

My current outdoor/social activity is a 'sport' called Geocaching. It gets me outside and walking and I have a lot of good friends again.

Hope to see some of the old ones again soon.

Comment: I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone at the Reunion!

After graduation, I was the first in my family to attend college, going to Stanford on a financial aid scholarship where I got to see Vicki Dobbs (now Beck) and Lamont Atkins from time to time.

After law school in Chicago, I settled in to an antitrust and health care practice at a Seattle firm.  As a volunteer, I helped lead the effort to have the voters approve our light rail system, debated Tim Eyman all over the state on his first initiative, ran for statewide office, helped create an online newspaper (Crosscut), and most recently am chair of a statewide political organization.

This year my wife Camille and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and we've been living in Issaquah for most of that time, on Cougar Mountain.  Our oldest son just graduated from college and is now doing an economics fellowship at Stanford.  Our other son is a Junior studying to be a robotics engineer.

I followed in my dad's footsteps and coached both my sons' soccer teams for 12 years. He and Jim Neir's dad helped create youth soccer programs on the Eastside. I also channeled our Vice Principal and my Scoutmaster, Lee Gray (Rip's dad), in leading Boy Scout adventures to Philmont, on 50-milers, and to climb Mt. Rainier and others of the Big 5.

As some of you know, my dad suffered a massive stroke when I was a sophomore, causing all sorts of financial and other challenges for my family.  I am so grateful for the support of my high school classmates, teachers and administrators during those tough times.  Without your love and support I would not have had the opporunities I've enjoyed since graduation. Thank you!

Mike

Comment: I only attended LWHS for the first week of football practice back in 1975. :-)

After that I moved to Bellevue and graduated from Interlake in 1978.  I attended Rose Hill Junior High from 1972 to 1975. I attended the 30 year reunion in 2008, and it was great to renew some old friendships after 30+ years.

In 2012 I earned my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate in Plzen, Czech Republic. Since 2013, I have spent my summers in Europe (mostly in the Czech Republic) to teach, travel, and enjoy the world's best beer!

I retired from teaching (34 years) in June 2019. I moved to Prague in July 2019. I legally emigrated to the Czech Republic in September 2020. In June 2021 I was granted temporary residency until Junr 2026. I am getting married to Jitka in September. I'm just living the dream here in Prague!

I also have two beautiful children, a daughter who graduated from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in June 2018, and and a son who graduated in Communications at the University of Washington in June 2019. WOOF!

Unfortunately, I did not attend the 40th, as my real alma mater (Interlake) is having our reunion the same day in Woodinville.

However, I did crash the party at Lucky 7 on Friday and it was great seeing some of you there!

If any of you are planning to be in central Europe, let me know!
