Comment: Can't believe I found this site.  So happy to hear about the LWHS class of 1978.  I must say it was a mighty fine class.  It was a nice group of people and I'm so glad to be a part of it.  I did miss all the reunions unfortuately, but hope to be at the next one.  I've been married for 23 years and have 4 kids.  I live in Fairwood,  which is East of Renton.  I worked for about 10 years as a manager for a computer department down in Seattle.  I even got to do some traveling which was fun.  Since then I have been a professional volunteer for  many different orgamizations like Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H.  I also taught skiing for Snowsports Northwest on and off for about 30 years.  Now I'm a Washington Virtual Academy learning coach for my daughter.  Its fun to run into fellow classmates from the class of 1978 and I hope to see more of you soon.

Comment: Wow, I can't believe it's forty one years since I completed my high school credits in July 1977.  That August I moved to England initially for a 4 month holiday, and stayed 9 years! I returned to my parental roots living just outside of Manchester and trained as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Enjoyed my work (most of the time) difficult at times, sad and it always helped to have a sense of humour. The last 3 years I was in England I worked at a 400 bed psychiatric hospital as a Sister (manager), it was never boring! In 1986 I returned to my native Canada, settling in Toronto near my eldest brother. Best thing about Toronto I met my wonderful husband John, we married in 1988 and then had our son. In 1994 we moved to British Columbia, where I was born in Victoria and John had been stationed there  in the Navy. We eventually settled in the seaside community of White Rock. John continued his career in banking and me in nursing. Adopted 2 cats, Lucy and Ricky which added more joy to our family. We are proud parents to our 29 year old son who is studying at the Univ. of Michigan. He is a PhD candidate, working on his 2nd LLM and continues to work part time/long distance as a lawyer for a Vancouver law firm. Would love to say he takes after me, but he's more like my husband. John and I both retired in 2016. It's funny we seem to be busier now than ever....We're planning to downsize and move to Victoria in 2019. I look forward to seeing everyone in September, having a good giggle and sharing a few memories.

Comment: In 1983, I went from the U of Wa to Forks, Wa.  First school district interview; first teaching job offer; first teaching job. Figured, "What the heck? All I want to do is teach! Might as well move to the end of the earth." I have lived on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula ever since! I even met my husband in Forks, quite a feat, and now live in the thriving metropolis of Port Angeles in the house he built for us.  I'm hoping for a 40 year career in education, specifically kindergarten, where my vocabulary has been reduced to one word commands, while my IQ has dropped at least 20 pts. Yet, I can still recite the words to most classic rock songs from 1968 - 1982 along with naming the artist. I am coming to the 40th for my future cognizance is questionable as I continue to argue with 5 year olds, daily, as to who was first in line and why one cannot lick Sammy's arm, just because he looks "yummy".  Teaching is truly my life's work; kindergartners are my vessel. Life is good!
